This is the fifth international Workshop on Sino-Tibetan Languages of southwest China organized under the auspices of the Department of Chinese, Nankai University. In the vein of previous events, and also as southwest China is home to a good number of little-explored Sino-Tibetan languages some of which are on the edge of extinction, this STLT-2019 will continue to seek the advancement of the study of non-Sinitic Sino-Tibetan languages of southwest China through international cooperation.

2019 will mark the Fortieth Anniversary of the foundation of the International Association for Tibetan Studies at St. John's College, OXFORD, under the leadership of the late Michael Aris. In celebration of the steady growth of the IATS that has ensued, we are honoured to host the 15th IATS Seminar in Paris.

                      XIXth Congress of the International Association for Buddhist Studies

The 19th Congress of the International Association of Buddhist Studies (IABS), will be held at Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Typically held every three years, this academic conference is the premier international forum for scholars of Buddhism to present their research findings. This is the first time that the IABS Congress will be hosted in Korea.
