The Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford (The HCBSS) invites qualified candidates to apply to The HCBSS Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Fellowship is for a two-year term, beginning in the Fall of 2022.
We invite applications from scholars in all areas of Buddhist Studies whose research interests would complement and augment the work of our current faculty and graduate students, and whose work promises to significantly contribute to the field of Buddhist Studies.
The Fellowship will provide a stipend, annual research fund, standard benefits, and relocation funds. The Fellow will teach one course per year in the Department of Religious Studies at Stanford, give one talk on their research during the term of the fellowship, and actively participate in The HCBSS events and programs. The Fellow is expected to be in residence at Stanford for the full academic year (mid-September through mid-June), including quarters when he or she is not teaching, and to be an active member of our scholarly community.
The deadline for applications is January 31, 2022 at 5:00 pm PST.
Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have completed their PhD no more than three years prior to the date of appointment to the fellowship.

A Doctorate in Arts (DA), honorary doctorate, or any other degree equivalent is not considered a qualified PhD for the purposes of application to this fellowship.

Preference will be given to candidates who have not previously held another post-doctoral appointment.

The Department of Religious Studies at Missouri State University is searching for a scholar of Asian Religions to fill a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, to begin in August 2022. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses at the undergraduate and master’s level in Asian religions, including Islam, and the department’s world religions survey course. ● Il Weatherhead East Asian Institute (WEAI) della Columbia University invita a presentare candidature per un appuntamento a tempo pieno come Associate Research Scholar in Modern Tibetan Studies a partire dall'estate 2021.
L'Istituto è alla ricerca di uno studioso associato di ricerca che studi il Tibet da una vasta gamma di discipline, tra cui letteratura, storia, religione, antropologia, cultura materiale o studi cinematografici. L’incaricato/a fungerà anche da direttore del programma di studi tibetani moderni presso il WEAI. In questo ruolo, l’Associate Research Scholar insegnerà un corso ogni semestre, programmerà direttamente gli eventi e cercherà / attuerà sovvenzioni, oltre a perseguire la propria ricerca. Idealmente, un corso all'anno sarebbe stato offerto in coordinamento con il Global Core Curriculum della Columbia, concentrandosi sull'insegnamento del Tibet in un contesto globale. L' Associate Research Scholar parteciperà a progetti collaborativi con altri studiosi, personale e studenti di studi tibetani e parteciperà attivamente ai programmi ed eventi WEAI giornalieri. L'appuntamento iniziale è di un anno con rinnovi pluriennali condizionati a revisioni di successo.
